TENURE-TRACK POSITION in Religious Studies
Buddhism

The Department of Religious Studies in the Faculty of
Humanities at the 
University of Calgary invites applications for a tenure-track
position 
in Buddhist Studies at the rank of Assistant or Associate
Professor to 
begin July 1, 2008.

A PhD is required, as well as proficiency in pertinent primary
and 
research languages and a strong record of teaching and research. 
Familiarity with the theories and methods of Religious Studies
and the 
cultural traditions of Asia is required. Areas of geographical
and 
historical specialization are open.

The successful candidate will teach both graduate and
undergraduate 
Religious Studies courses, including the survey course on Eastern 
religions and pertinent primary language courses, and supervise 
graduate students in the MA and PhD programs in the Department of 
Religious Studies. The normal teaching load is four courses
per year.
