[Research] New Benefit Rates, Funding Opportunities, and More!

*** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ***

The new F&A Rates, along with the implementation plan, was posted last month to the Sponsored Programs website at https://research.ucr.edu/spa/lifecycle/proposalpreparation/rates.

Please be advised that the F&A Rate Agreement, dated 7/7/2023, has since been re-issued by DHHS, with a date of July 28, 2023.  (See DHHS agreement dated July 28, 2023<https://research.ucr.edu/sites/default/files/2023-08/ucr.7011.ra_.2018.pdf>.)
This subsequent agreement was issued to reflect negotiated changes to UCR’s Composite Benefits Rates (CBRs); it did not make further changes to UCR’s F&A Rates.

The Benefits<https://research.ucr.edu/spa/lifecycle/proposalpreparation/benefits> webpage has yet again been updated to reflect the new CBRs.  Such benefit rates will be configured in the Kuali Proposal Development module shortly.

Cycle 3 Call for Proposals

Release Date: August 15, 2023
Proposal Deadline: October 25, 2023

We are pleased to announce the release of the Cycle 3 Call for Proposals for the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) Observations and funding for Archival Research and Theoretical Research programs.

Participation in this program is open to all categories of organizations, both domestic and foreign, including educational institutions, profit and nonprofit organizations, NASA Centers, and other Government agencies.

This solicitation for proposals will be open through October 25, 2023 8:00pm EDT. The release of the Astronomer's Proposal Tools<http://www.stsci.edu/scientific-community/software/astronomers-proposal-tool-apt> (APT), required for Proposal Submission is 2023.5.1 or higher, this version will be delivered around August 24, 2023. We encourage prospective investigators to start preparing their proposals as soon as possible.

All programmatic and technical information, as well as specific guidelines for proposal preparation, are available electronically from the JWST Opportunities and Policies Web Page: https://jwst-docs.stsci.edu/jwst-opportunities-and-policies, as well as: http://www.stsci.edu/jwst/science-planning.
