FSSC is pleased to announce a major enhancement to the Payroll Personnel System
(PPS). In collaboration with five other UC campuses, a user-friendly web
interface has been developed to simplify and streamline the processing of
“new hires”. Special thanks is owed to Ms. Jasmine Mejia from
Botany & Plant Sciences who serves as our campus functional expert on the
system-wide workgroup as well as the Vice Chancellor Bolar and Associate Vice
Chancellor Rowley for supporting this initiative to improve the effectiveness
and efficiency of campus operations. Thanks to all of the PPS users and
the Payroll department for participating in the campus requirements sessions
and testing the system. The Web New Hire was demonstrated at the PPS
Users Group on June 9<sup>th</sup>.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p>

the existing CICS mainframe input option is still available, PPS Transactors
are encouraged to immediately begin using the web interface for new
hires. PPS users with entry update privileges automatically have access
to the web interface. The new functionality can be accessed via the
On-Line PPS environment under the New Hire menu option. Please note this
functionality is only supported using <b><u>Internet Explorer (IE) 7.0, IE 8.0,
Firefox 2.0, and Firefox 3.6. </u></b> Additional information
