power point presentation addressing the hiring of students under Federal Work
Study for 2009/2010. She indicated that the students can begin looking
for jobs online starting September 7<sup>th</sup> and begin working September
21<sup>st</sup>. She also presented some handouts which are

the Furlough/Salary Reduction has been released and tested. The
installation will occur late this week or early next week before the MO rosters
are created. He indicated that the first group to be run on the program
will be the 99 employees. After that, the A5, K5, FX and 87 units
will each be run separately. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

Can probationary staff employees participate in START?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.5in'>A. At this time, there is no
indication that any exceptions can be made to the eligibility requirements for
START. Eligibility is limited to “All academic appointees, except
those in faculty and student academic titles and Postdoctoral Scholars,
and full- or part-time non-probationary career (“regular status”)
staff.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in;text-align:justify'><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Cynthia also
indicated that contract employees, although exempt from the automatic program
update, are still subject to the salary reduction. She stated that
specific instructions on how to do this have been communicated to the Control

briefly about the FEP (Faculty Exchange Program) which is still materializing
at this time. This program allows academic employees who are
subject to the furlough program to devote extra effort to extramurally funded
projects in exchange for the furlough time they would be accruing. She
indicated that more answers to questions would be provided next
week. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
