of I-9 issues (attached) that were discussed at a previous meeting between
H.R., Payroll, Grad Division, Academic Planning and Budget and International

and appointment start – bottom line: Absolutely all I-9 forms

the start date. This may involve asking future employees to come to
the campus and sign the paperwork before their actual start date.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

is seen as possible discrimination. This is true for the I-9
form. The UC W-8BEN is given to non-resident aliens to be filled out to
determine how they should be taxed in the payroll system and if they qualify

(attached) to inform the departments of key issues regarding summer session
hiring. The number one issue was “<b><span style='font-weight:bold'>DO
NOT SEPARATE SUMMER SESSION EMPLOYEES</span></b>”. In the
past, employees have had to fill out new hire paperwork which causes a lot of
work for Summer Session. On the EPER screen in PPS, <b><span
style='font-weight:bold'>add D01083 as the alternate</span></b> <b><span
style='font-weight:bold'>department</span></b> so that Summer Sessions can get
to the employee’s record. All they will do is add an
appointment and distribution for the summer.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

will allow for one day no pay for retirees wanting the COLA. If
someone retiring wants to be paid on the pay day of July 1, 2008 and not
receive a manual check, you will need to get written authorization from them
since their last day will be June 29, 2008 and a check needs to be provided to
them their last work day. Any questions regarding retirement pay date
should be directed to the payroll office. Any questions regarding

Office of the Jury Commissioner regarding pay for jury duty. (attached)
It states that any public entity such as the Regents of the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">California</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>
will not receive jury pay since we are paid regular compensation and benefits
while serving on jury duty. Further information on this can be found on
