July 1 and separating June 28th and you pay them for a full month they will not
be eligible to receive the special COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) in their
retirement pay starting August 1. In other words you need to dock the employee
for one day<font color=navy><span style='color:navy'>’</span></font>s pay
in the month of June. If this does not take place then the Retirement
Office in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Oakland</st1:City></st1:place>
will not pay the retiree this extra retirement pay and then you will have an
upset retiree that you will have to deal with.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
