Institutes of Health (NIH) has implemented a new requirement for collecting
certifications and retaining signatures of individual fellows and their
sponsor(s) for the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Awards (NRSA).
These certifications must be collected and maintained, as part of UCR’s
institutional review and approval processes, for all competing applications
(PHS 416-1), progress</span><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";
color:#333333'> reports for continuation support (PHS 416-9), and with each
prior approval request made of NIH. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span
style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#333333'>To comply with this
newest NIH requirement, Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) has developed a
new form, the “NIH/PHS Fellowship Certification Assurance Form,”

link on the Office of Research Website</a> or directly at <a

NIH/PHS Fellowship Certification Assurance Form to the e-mail is acceptable and
