Literature in English, 1914-1945<br><br>Special Topics Issue in 2007<br><br>The editors of the newly-renamed journal The Space Between: Literature<br>and Culture, 1914-1945 would like to announce a call for papers for a<br>
special topics issue (Volume 3, Number 1) on "Technology, Media, and<br>Culture in the Space Between, 1914-45." We welcome interdisciplinary<br>articles<br>that explore the manifestations, effects, and representations of the
<br>new technologies of the 1914-1945 period. The editors are<br>especially interested in interdisciplinary explorations of the cultural<br>relationships that emerge as the roles of the media and technology<br>shape each other in the space bracketed by the two World Wars.
<br>The newly extended deadline for submissions to this special issue is<br>February 15, 2006.<br><br>Please send submissions or correspondence regarding submissions to the<br>guest editor, Debra Rae Cohen, at <a href="mailto:drc@uark.edu">
drc@uark.edu</a> or the Department of<br>English, 333 Kimpel Hall,University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR,<br>72701. Articles<br>should be 6,000 to 10,000 words (including notes and works cited).<br>Electronic submissions are welcomed. Articles should
<br>conform to MLA style. Please include a cover letter that describes the<br>contents of your article.<br><br>The Space Between is a refereed journal dedicated to supporting<br>scholarly study of literature and culture between the wars. It aims to
<br>provide an interdisciplinary forum for research on overlooked texts,<br>understudied authors, and new approaches to traditionally canonical<br>texts. Its editors are also interested in work that encourages fresh<br>examination of art, society, and culture illuminating the war and
