MD School Applicants for 2009 Admission:<br><br>
As you know, for this admission cycle AMCAS is implementing a pilot
letter service; AMCAS will send your letter of recommendation packet to
any of the 21 participating allopathic (MD) schools you are applying to.
You will need to complete a new section of the AMCAS application but will
still go through the Career Center to have all your letters sent,
including the packet being sent to AMCAS. For these schools,
though, only one packet will be necessary regardless of how many of the
21 you're applying to. Attached is detailed information and instructions
for completing this section of the AMCAS. If you have questions, be
sure to contact the Medical and Health Careers Program. We will be
happy to assist you.<br><br>
A word to the wise: For best consideration, your AMCAS application
should be complete and submitted as early as possible and certainly by
the end of this month. Remember--with rolling admissions, decisions can
be made at any time after your application is processed and sent to the
medical schools. The longer you wait, the fewer spaces there will
be.<br><br>
