Needed for Space Science and Engineering Day</span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Georgia;">Volunteers are needed to
help run activities for the upcoming "*Bourns Space Science and
Engineering Day*" outreach event on </span><span style="font-family: Georgia;">Saturday, April 12, 2008</span><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> from </span><span style="font-family: Georgia;">12:30-5pm</span><span style="font-family: Georgia;"> at UC Riverside. You do not have to be an
engineering student to volunteer.<br>
<br>
High school students can also volunteer. They will be paired up with a
UCR student to assist participants with one of our activity stations.<br>
<br>
This event is hosted by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at UCR in collaboration with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)/NASA in </span><span style="font-family: Georgia;">Pasadena</span><span style="font-family: Georgia;">.<br>
<br>
The day is filled with hands on space science and engineering activities for K-12 students. Participants will get to look through the telescopes of
the<br>
Riverside Astronomical Society, create their own constellation in a planetarium, and get "run over" by a real Mars Rover prototype from JPL. Later in the afternoon participants will have a chance to meet astronaut, Mission Specialist Alvin Drew in addition to NASA Planetary Scientist Dr. Jennifer Heldmann.<br>

The event is sold out but we are in need of volunteers. Shift hours can also be flexible.<br>

projects. Sign up as an individual ($15 registration) or recruit your
co-workers or friends and family to join you and participate as a team ($65 for
a team of 5). Set a fundraising goal and ask your friends and family members to
sponsor you in the Run/Walk.</span></p>

the first Council Meeting of the quarter!!!<span style="">
</span>In this meeting you will see our candidates for office give speeches and
you will have a chance to grill…. oopss!!!...ask them questions.<span style=""> </span>We will also be discussing funding for the
Botany and Plant Sciences miniGSA.<span style=""> </span>One
of our guests will talk about a UCR project to help end domestic violence and
another will talk about an exciting new mentorship program for those of you
grads wishing to become professors or enhance your pedagogical skills.</span></p>

of athletic tournaments, both traditional and non-traditional sports.<span style=""> </span>The events will include a picnic and
giveaways, complete with trophies/cups and your team's name on the
commemorative plaque at the GSA office.<span style="">
</span>The focus this quarter will be on Softball and Soccer your team can have
outside members but the teams have to be at least 2/3 grads. So sign up your
miniGSA or form your own team.<span style=""> </span>If you
