got a call this morning from the chancellor's office and apparently will be
meeting with him. I could don my cynic's hat and grumble fatalistically about
how -- unless the meeting produces millions of dollars out of thin air -- it
isn't likely to accomplish much, but for the moment I'm wearing my teacher's
hat: I'm happy for her, encouraged to see her initiative, delighted she
applied rhetoric to a real-world situation and got a meeting out of it, and I'm
wishing her luck.</FONT></DIV>
