I have been advised by UCR Labor Relations that the
workload settlement checks for 07-08 are now being mailed out. The people
who are getting these checks are those who taught in 07-08 and also taught in
08-09. If you worked full-time in 07-08 (i.e. 9 quarters instead of the
new 8 quarter full-time load), you should be getting $721.79. The
shrinkage is due to the addition of several people to the
settlement who taught in 07-08 whom Human Resources had completely
overlooked when calculating what was available per person.

People who taught fewer than the full 9 comp
courses during 07-08 will receive a pro rata payment. The union insisted
on this, per the general consensus of those who attended the meetings late
spring quarter to discuss the proposed settlement, and this is the other
reason why the checks are less than $1,000 per person.
