<font size=2>Legendary performance artist <b>Laurie Anderson</b> returns
to <b><u>UC Riverside</u> </b>on <b><u>Tuesday, October
14<sup>th</sup></u></b> with her most sophisticated production to date,
<b>HOMELAND</b> – a concert poem driven by the political urgency of
contemporary American culture.&nbsp; Weaving a conceptual sonic tapestry
through spoken word, music and technology, &lt;?xml:namespace prefix =
st1 ns = &quot;urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags&quot;
/&gt;Anderson offers audiences an editorial narrative on the delivery of
information and the push and pull of freedom and fear in today’s
omnipresent context of war.&nbsp; The music features new melodic forms
that Anderson has been developing on the violin in her work with
electronic systems and Tuvan throat singers. Anderson is joined by New
York musicians skilled in the art of improvisation, so each performance
is unique. <br>
