UCR Colleagues,

Please circulate the following information
to faculty and students in your departments. This quarter the
University Writing Program's new Writing Center is offering
tutorials to individual graduate and undergraduate students on a drop-in
basis. These tutorials are in addition to the assignment-specific
workshops and tutorials being offered for designated courses whose
faculty have already entered into cooperative arrangements with the UWP.

The available hours for drop-in tutorials
are listed below. The tutors, who are trained UCR graduate students
from various departments, will meet students on a first-come,
first-served basis. At this early stage in the program, space for
tutorials is limited. Instruction will focus on individual
students' difficulties and particular strategies for
improving their writing. The Writing Center will not be an editing
service. Students are expected to bring in samples of their writing
so that the meetings are as productive as possible. Interested
students should go directly to HMNSS 1103 to see a tutor or sign
up for an appointment.
