Dear Colleagues,

Pleas see the below copy of a message that will be distributed to
faculty via Scotmail this week regarding the use of iGrade, the UCR
electronic grading system.

Your assistance in assuring that all instructors in your unit are
aware of the availability of iGrade as well as its associated deadlines
for sign-up and grade submission would be greatly appreciated. In
particularly, visiting faculty and lecturers who may not be regular
users of a campus webmail account may not receive or regularly
review Scotmail and could benefit from a reminder from you.

For future reference, please note that the signup dates to
participate
in iGrade will always be between the beginning of the fourth week of
the quarter and the end of the eighth week.

Technical questions and considerations about iGrade should be
forwarded Mark Nicolay or Joel Nylander in Computing and
Commnunications. General questions about grading and grading
policies should be sent, as always, to the Office of the
Registrar.

Sincerely

Dear UCR Faculty,

This is a friendly reminder that you can say good-bye to mountains of
paperwork! iGrade is available
for Fall 2007! iGrade is the easiest way to directly submit your
students' grades into the campus
Student Information System. It's fast. It's easy. And it's
greatly improved.

Some advantages:

You'll have less paperwork.

You'll be able to submit grades from anywhere (as long as there is
Internet access).

Your students' grades will be available immediately upon your
submission.

And I am happy to announce a brand new iGrade feature: You now have
the option of changing
your default grade submission method from paper to iGrade permanently.
Once you change
the default method, you will not have to opt into iGrade every quarter.
The new default will
remain in effect until you decide to change it.

If you haven't tried iGrade yet, this is the perfect time to get
started. Here are a few easy steps to opt in:

1. Visit
http://igrade.ucr.edu <

http://igrade.ucr.edu/> .
2. Log in using your UCR Net
ID and password.
3. Select the iGrade option in
the "Submit Method" column. (You'll notice that all
classes have been preset to "Paper," so you must click on the
"iGrade" option to
activate iGrade.) Please do this for each class.
4. Please note that in order
to use iGrade for the Fall Quarter 2007, you must
submit
your method choices between 10/22/2007 and 11/26/2007 at 5:00 p.m.
For an
introduction, background, and additional information about iGrade,
please
