<P><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">I wanted to point out to those who may not have noticed it that there's a nice little article on John Briggs in the May 23 issue of<I> Inside UCR</I>.</FONT><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial"> The article concerns John's co-direction of a three-week NEH seminar on Samuel Johnson, Abraham Lincoln, and Winston Churchill at Boston University in July. The seminar will focus on the ability of the three men to write persuasively while under pressure. John will lead the discussions of Lincoln, while Bruce Redford will lead on Johnson, and Paul Alkon will lead on Churchill.</FONT></SPAN></P>
