I am sending this on behalf of the conference organizers, Stephen Knight
and Helen Phillips. I have attended every one of these conferences since
the first one in 1999, and collectively they have been among the best
conferences I've ever attended--small, attended by a mutually helpful and
engaging "band of merry men and women," excellent
accommodations, food, and wonderful junkets to RH related local sights.
The scheduling intentionally avoids conflict with and encourages
piggybacking to other summer conferences in England, such as the
Christianity and Culture Visual Conference in York which immediately
precedes it, and and then the Leeds conference afterwards. The site
at which the conference will be held this time looks splendid. For an
attachment containing a registration form, and full travel information
about getting to the conference, contact one of the organizers by email
(included in the CFP below). Note that papers on any aspects of Robin
Hood OR other outlaws or criminals in international culture are
welcomed.<br>

The biennial conference of the International Association for Robin Hood
Studies will be held from 19th-22nd July 2007 at Plas Gregynog, Newtown,
Powys, Wales U.K. This is the University of Wales residential conference

The organisers on behalf of the association and the conference organising
committee are seeking submissions to give twenty-minute papers: please
send title and short abstract to one of the above addresses. The closing
date for proposals is March 31st 2007. The organising committee will
consult electronically and expects to give speedy responses. As the
conference title indicates, the association welcomes discussions of
banditry and ethical criminality beyond the purview of the Robin Hood
tradition as such, whether they are comparative with Robin Hood or
self-standing. A statement of costs, travel details and a booking form
have been posted on the Robin Hood discussion website; they can be
forwarded to anyone interested in receiving them. Please feel free to
direct any inquiries to the organisers.<br>

retired, unwaged, students £20/$35.<br>
<b>Full Board Accommodation</b> <br>
At Gregynog this is £60.25/ $110.00 per day. (We regret that there
are no discounts available for unwaged, retired etc.)<br>

Conference runs from Thursday July 19th to Sunday July 22nd, so you
will need three full days accommodation, unless you plan something
different.<br><br>
