Will We Have Enough Water? <br>

<font size=1>Arthur L. Littleworth, one of the preeminent water attorneys
in the United States and a senior partner in the Environmental Law and
Natural Resources Practice Group at Best Best & Krieger LLP in
Riverside, will discuss California’s current water supply and how it is
allocated among environmental, agricultural and urban uses. He will
examine whether conservation is the answer to our growing water demand,
and discuss opportunities for increasing our developed water supply.<br>

<font size=1>Randall Lewis is well known for his innovative approaches to
planning, designing, and marketing residential
communities<img src="http://www.cssd.ucr.edu/Novnewsletter.htmimages/RLewis.jpg" width=100 height=166 alt="[]">
as Executive Vice President of the Upland-based Lewis Group of
Companies.</font> <br><br>
<font size=1>He has been Secretary of the Los Angeles County Citizens
Planning Council, Director of the Home Builder's Council, National
Director of the National Association of Home Builders, and President of
the Inland Empire Arts Foundation. He was named Builder of the Year by
the Baldy View Chapter of the B.I.A., and was the recipient of the Sales
and Marketing Council's MAME Awards Marketing Person of the Year.</font>

<font size=1>He is a long time ULI member as well as a Governor of the
ULI Foundation. He serves on several executive boards, including the USC
School of Policy, Planning and Development and the UCLA School of Public
Policy and Social Research. He received his B.A. from Claremont McKenna
College.<br>

<font size=2>As the region continues to grow, so does our thirst for
water. Historically, securing additional water wasn’t a concern – we
simply found a distant source and diverted it to the region. But is
California and the region running out of water, and will that inhibit
growth?

<font size=2>Mr. Littleworth will explore our water supply system’s
reliability, and whether it is at risk from earthquakes, flooding
disasters in the Delta and effects from global warming. He will examine
whether conservation is the answer to growing water demand, and discuss
opportunities for increasing our developed water supply.<br>
</font><br>
<font size=2>Mr. Littleworth has extensive experience in the planning and
use of groundwater resources and in the marketing of water rights,
representing a number of water districts, other government agencies and
property owners.<br>
</font><br>
<font size=2>He is special counsel to The Irvine Company with respect to
future water supplies, water quality and environmental matters. He also
is co-author of the book, California Water, published in 1995 by Solano
Press and widely viewed as the definitive book on this subject.
