one year position at the assistant professor level beginning in Fall 2006.
Candidates should have completed a Ph.D. with a specialty in African American
Literature by August 2006 or be ABD and close to completion of their
degree. Desirable secondary areas of interest include Post Colonial
theory, Literature and Cultures of the African Diaspora, Critical or Cultural
theory and American Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach
introductory African American literature courses, an introduction to African
American Studies, as well as upper division courses in both the English
Department and the African American Studies Program. <st1:PlaceName
w:st="on">Gettysburg</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">College</st1:PlaceType> is a highly selective liberal arts college
located within 90 minutes of the <st1:State w:st="on">Washington</st1:State>/
