WORK IN COURSES<br><br>
The work expected of students taking courses at UCR (other than remedial
courses) is specified in regulation 760 in the Regulations of the
Academic Senate. <br><br>
"The value of a course in units shall be reckoned at the rate of one
unit for three hours' work per week per item on the part of the
student, or the equivalent."<br>
<br>
This regulation is noted in the UCR General Catalog under Academic
Regulations, Credit and Grades which also contains the helpful example:
<b>" ... in a 4 unit course scheduled to meet four hours per week, a
student is expected to spend eight hours of preparation outside of
class." </b></blockquote></body>
