<blockquote type=cite class=cite cite> Those of you who
aren't members of the ALSC (The Association of Literary Scholars and
Critics) might not know about the upcoming conference. Here's a
link to some information about it:<br>

Norman Mailer will be the featured speaker. The ALSC
conferences now provide opportunities for the delivery of short of
papers. (If you've missed the deadline for submission this year,
look ahead to next year's meeting in San Francisco.) The
conferences are small, full of conversation, and an excellent chance to
talk with Christopher Ricks (latest book: <i>Dylan's Visions of
Sin</i>), Roger Sessions, Roger Shattuck, Paul Cantor (<i>Gilligan
Unbound</i>), the poet Rosanna Warren, and others.<br>
New members and non-members are welcome. The ALSC is
an association of scholars, teachers, editors, novelists, poets and
others. It welcomes and indeed promotes participation by graduate
students.<br><br>
