Greetings,

The textbooks for Summer Session Basic
Writing classes have been ordered and should be in soon. All
English 4 instructors will use Writing Today as the main text,
English 5 instructors will use Current Issues and Enduring
Questions as the main text, and there will also be a handbook and
whole text(s), as well as an optional grammar workbook. As soon as
the summer books are in, I am hoping we can get together for a brief
orientation to go over the books and clarify the program
requirements. I know that Teri put an announcement on the listserve
that summer instructors should order books, but you should disregard this
unless you are a continuing lecturer and want to use a novel or novels
other than those we have chosen. Henry James's The Turn of the
Screw has been ordered for English 4, and James's Daisy Miller
and Melville's Bartleby the Scrivener have been ordered for
English 5. Discussion instructors will use Pass
It.
