<DIV><BR></DIV>Dear Friends--<BR><BR>I know you have all received notices
already, but I wish to <BR>personally encourage those of you who do not have
summer <BR>teaching obligations lined up to consider joining us in the
5-<BR>week Summer Institute of the Inland Area Writing Project. It
<BR>is a wonderful and enriching opportunity that pays you a <BR>stipend of
$750 while you spend your time on your own writing <BR>and working with other
teachers on writing assignments and <BR>activities.<BR><BR>We limit the number
of participants (Fellows) to 20, working <BR>with a staff of six former
Fellows as Co-Directors and <BR>Facilitators in small writing groups. We still
have a couple <BR>of spaces left.<BR><BR> I am looking forward to
Co-Directing again this summer. <BR>When I did the Institute a couple of
years ago, the five <BR>weeks of intense writing and fellowship with other
teachers <BR>gave me a much-needed boost not only in my own teaching, but
<BR>also in my whole experience as a writer.<BR><BR>The Institute runs from
June 27 to July 28, four days a week, <BR>9 to 4. If you have any
