<p class="MsoNormal"><span class="apple-style-span">Launched in 2001, the Disney | ABC DGA Directing Program is one of the longest-running programs of its kind in the entertainment industry. The two-year professional Directing Program focuses on potential episodic
directing opportunities on ABC series. The Los Angeles-based program will afford selected participants the chance to shadow veteran episodic directors, and develop relationships with Disney | ABC Television Group network and studio executives.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p><span class="headerfontblue">About the Program</span><br>
Those selected to participate in the two-year program become part of the ABC•DGA directing talent pool. Executive producers and producing episodic directors of designated ABC Television Network shows will select individuals to shadow on an episode or episodes
of their series. Those participants who secure shadowing assignments, which encompass pre-production, shooting and/or post-production (3 or more weeks), will be paid a stipend in the amount of $950.00 per week when actively shadowing on any aspect of a production.
The duration of an individual's participation is at the discretion of ABC executives, executive producers and/or episodic directors.<o:p></o:p></p>

The submission period for the Directing Program opens the first Monday in October of odd calendar years and closes the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Directing Program applicants must be at least 18 years of age and able to legally work in the United States. Previous professional experience working in production is strongly encouraged. Applicants must submit the following items listed below. Applications
received without any of these elements will be disqualified and destroyed.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p><span class="headerfontblue">Acceptable Material</span><br>
We prefer that applicants submit a single body of work featuring a linear storyline with a clear beginning, middle and end. Qualifying bodies of work include, but are not limited to, television pilots, episodic series, feature films and short films. Compilation
clip reels are accepted, but not recommended.<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><u>All submissions must be final, sweetened cuts.</u><span class="apple-converted-space"> </span>The extensive criteria for judging material includes: execution of storytelling;
originality; shot selections; talent performances; and overall production value. All submitted material will be destroyed after the evaluation process.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span class="headerfontblue">Notification Period</span><br>
Persons selected to join the directing talent pool are contacted no later than May. Once participation is confirmed, individuals will be interviewed by Disney | ABC executives, ABC executive producers and/or ABC episodic directors.<o:p></o:p></p>
