<div>Could you forward this to the faculty and grad students? Thanks so much.</div>
<div>I'm heading to the Guadalajara Book Festival, which features Los Angeles Writers this year, and one of my panels is with two UCR affiliates! Michael-Jaime Becerra and Alex Espinoza both began their first books while undergrads in Creative Writing; our panel is The New Chicanismo, and I'm really proud that we accomplished it here in Riverside. I heard that yesterday, Mayor Villaraigosa held up Alex's novel Still Water Saints on TV and praised him as an LA writer to be proud of! (The book's set in a fictional Colton, but hey, it was cool.)</div>
<div>I think Chris Abani is there as well, and Marisa Silver, Dagoberto Gilb, Nina Revoyr, and Yxta Maya Murray, all of whom have read at Writers Week.</div>
<div>Check it out.</div>
