If we use iLearn, won't that mean that prospective students won't be able to access it and see what work is being produced by the program they (might) apply to? I thought that was one of the reasons to compile this site, to showcase our work as a whole beyond the stretch of the university...

I think links are a good idea, and I've gone ahead and put links up where my work appears. I also started to compile links (on the sidebar) to student/alumni/faculty sites. If you don't want your site linked to, again, feel free to remove anything. It's open forum, and I'm not in charge of it, I just started the snowball rolling.
Good point Stephanie. I wonder though what the university's position is
with regard to ownership of intellectual material posted on ilearn? I
know some universities in the East Coast (I believe) claimed ownership
of IM on ilearn. This came up in one of my grad classes and I had to
give students the option to not post material they wanted to retain the
rights to.

On 2/19/08, Stephanie Hammer <hamm@ucr.edu> wrote:

hey everyone --

the other thing you can do is follow chuck's suggestion and
use a website on ilearn. since it's limited to the ucr
student, staff, and faculty community, it's a site that's used
"for educational purposes only" and therefore ok, legally, i
believe. shammer

---- Original message ----
>Date: Tue, 19 Feb 2008 22:02:18 -0800
>From: "chris abani" <chris.abani@gmail.com>
