I also recently found out that my short story Collateral received a Special Mention in the latest Pushcart Prize.<br> <br>My novel Self Storage comes out in paperback in a couple of weeks and I have a few events planned; you can find them on my blog (<a href="http://gaylebrandeis.blogspot.com">http://gaylebrandeis.blogspot.com</a>). Among the events is a benefit concert I am co-organizing to raise funds for a local family tragically affected by domestic violence (the mother was killed by the father; the father was killed by the police, who also shot the 5 year old daughter in the process. The girl and her 3 year old brother are now being raised by their grandmother and need a lot of help.) The evening will include a silent auction; if anyone on the faculty would like to donate a signed book, it would be greatly appreciated. They can leave the signed copies in my box or track me down.
