the chance to have his or her book of poems published by HarperCollins. The
winning poet will be the recipient of</span><i> </i><i><span style='font-size:
10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>The National Poetry Series mtvU Prize</span></i><span
style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'> and will also have
the opportunity to interview the competition's judge, celebrated poet<b> Yusef
Komunyakaa</b>, on mtvU. NPS' partnership with mtvU offers college
students an unparalleled opportunity to have their work published. Past</span><i>
</i><i><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>NPS</span></i>
<span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>winners include
Marie Howe, Sherod Santos, Mark Doty, and former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy

period is January 1 through February 15, 2008 and the competition is open to
