Creative Writing<br>
<br>
Candidates may submit two copies of one original manuscript, or portion of <br>
manuscript, no more than 25 numbered pages in length, double spaced with <br>
standard margins, and clearly reproduced on white 8 1/2" x 11" paper. Please clip <br>
pages together. No other samples will be accepted. For the purpose of historical <br>
value, the winner is expected to submit signed and dated full length <br>
manuscript to be added to the Cintas Fellows Collection.<br>
APPLICATION GUIDELINES PROGRAM YEAR 2008<br>
Eligibility: Creative artists, living outside of Cuba, of Cuban citizenship <br>
or direct lineage (having a Cuban parent or grandparent).<br>
Application: The original application, in black ink or, preferably, typewri<br>
tten, must be submitted. The application must be completed in English. Please <br>
complete all sections of the application.<br>

Artist's and Project Statements: Prepare two narrative statements: The <br>
Artist's Statement describes your personal history, your development as an artist, <br>
and your plans for the future. The Project Statement describes the project or <br>
activity that you would undertake if awarded a Cintas Fellowship. Please <br>
include a timeline for the project, and identify other sources, where appropriate, <br>
of funding for the project.<br>
Letters of Recommendation: Candidates must submit two letters of <br>
recommendation with the application. Letters may be submitted separately, if necessary, <br>
but must be postmarked no later than the application deadline. Each letter of <br>
recommendation must be submitted in a sealed envelope, with the recommender's <br>
signature across the seal. Letters of recommendation must be written in <br>
English.<br>
Submission of Work Samples: All material should be submitted to the Cintas <br>
Fellowship Selection Program by January 14, 2008. Acceptable formats are DVDs <br>
and CDs. The material must be accompanied by the Work Sample Form. Pieces <br>
should be carefully itemized on this form.<br>

Return of Work Samples: Work samples will be returned to candidates <br>
following the competition, provided that Cintas Fellowship Program is furnished with a <br>
self-addressed envelope or mailing container stamped with the appropriate <br>
postage.<br>

law and the Foundation will withhold appropriate US taxes. Fellows who are not <br>
U.S. citizens and who are living abroad must provide a U.S. taxpayer <br>
