Series continues its 2007 Series with our May speaker author,
screenwriter, and playwright <b>Joan Didion </b>who will speak on
<b>Monday, May 7th </b>at 8pm at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los
Angeles. The Music Center is offering a <b>student ticket price of
$25</b>.<br>

</font><font face="Tahoma" size=3>Joan Didion won the National Book Award
for The Year of Magical Thinking in 2005, which she later adapted for
Broadway in 2007 and received rave reviews. A novelist, essayist
and non-fiction writer she has authored 13 books, and she and her late
husband John Gregory Dunne co-authored a number of noted screenplays. She
is a contributor to The New York Review of Books and The New Yorker.
Throughout her career she has received many awards, and in 2005 received
the Gold Medal for Belles Letters from the American Academy of Arts and
Letters, which is the highest honor the Academy awards to a writer and is
given once every six years.<br>
