Housing Market

class=style9>Home sales are showing signs of improvement and prices are
slowly rising in some Southern California markets. Does this mean the
regions real estate crash has hit bottom?

MDA DataQuick Analyst John Karevoll will examine
some of the basic housing-related statistics and comment on the housing
markets at the Sept. 17 Randall Lewis Seminar Series. The seminar will
begin at 5:30 p.m. in Conference Room B, UCR Extension building, 1200
University Avenue in Riverside. (See <A

Karevoll, who has spent more than 20 years analyzing
real estate data in the region, will review Southern California market
trends, with a special focus on Riverside and San Bernardino counties. He
will examine sales, price, lending and foreclosure trends, with a close
look at below-the-surface statistics that don't make the
headlines.

While it's hard to chart turbulence until it's over,
Karevoll will try to address how the market broke loose from its moorings.
Why has the Inland Empire been hardest hit? Has the market hit bottom, and
can anybody predict how the market will recover - and
when?
