<P><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 9pt" face=Arial>Randall Lewis is
well known for his innovative approaches to planning,
designing, and marketing residential communities<IMG
height=166 hspace=3 src="images/RLewis.jpg" width=100
align=right vspace=3 border=0> as Executive Vice President of
the Upland-based Lewis Group of Companies.</FONT>
<P><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 9pt" face=Arial>He has been
Secretary of the Los Angeles County Citizens Planning Council,
Director of the Home Builder's Council, National Director of
the National Association of Home Builders, and President of
the Inland Empire Arts Foundation. He was inducted into the
California Building Industry Association Hall of Fame and was
the recipient of the Sales and Marketing Council's MAME Awards
Marketing Person of the Year.</FONT>
<P><FONT style="FONT-SIZE: 9pt" face=Arial>He is a long time
ULI member as well as a Governor of the ULI Foundation. He
serves on several executive boards, including the USC School
of Policy, Planning and Development and the UCLA School of
Public Policy and Social Research. He received his B.A. from

size=4>Meeting the Region's Growing Need for Child
Care</FONT></SPAN></FONT></P><FONT color=#221e1f size=2>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>The need for quality child care in the
Inland area is the focus of the Sept. 18 Randall Lewis
Seminar. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Verdana>Seminar speakers will be Deborah
Clark-Crews, Executive Director with the Riverside County
Child Care Consortium; and Kristi Van Heule, Coordinator for
First 5 Riverside's Capacity Building Initiative, which
focuses on increasing child care facilities development in
Riverside County.</FONT><IMG height=160 hspace=5

<P><FONT face=Verdana>The availability of child</FONT><FONT
face=Verdana> care has not kept pace with the Inland region's
rapid population growth. In </FONT><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: Calibri">Riverside
County, for example, there has been a 20 percent increase in
the birth-through- age-five population in the past five years,
cre</SPAN><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: Calibri">ating
a significant gap in the number of licensed child care spaces.
</SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; LINE-HEIGHT: 115%; FONT-FAMILY: Calibri">Meeting
the need for child care is multifaceted and
complex.</SPAN><FONT face=Verdana> Without access to child
care, parents cannot work, impacting the financial health of
the region's households and its communities. With child care,
parents can go to work, workplace absenteeism is reduced, and
children do better later in school and later in
life.</FONT></P></FONT><FONT color=#221e1f size=3>
<P><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Calibri">Ms. Clark-Crews
</SPAN><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Calibri">will be
addressing the current child care crisis in Riverside
County. She will share what is being done to tackle the
critical shortage of quality, affordable child care throughout
the county; and </SPAN><FONT color=#221e1f size=2><IMG

vspace=5 border=0></FONT><SPAN

part of the Early Care and Child Development field for more
than 30 years. Before joining the Consortium in 2005,
she served for more than 20 years in various positions

of Education. She also has held administrative
positions with for-profit centers and state-funded
programs.</SPAN><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: Calibri"> She earned a MA
in Education from Chapman University, a BA in Business
Management from the University of Redlands. </SPAN></P>
<P></FONT><FONT color=#221e1f size=2><SPAN

Van Heule </SPAN><SPAN

State University, Fullerton in 1992, and her Multiple Subjects
Teaching Credential from Cal Baptist University in
1999.</FONT></FONT></P><FONT color=#221e1f size=2>
