<p>The result of a federal grant awarded to California State University Los Angeles (CSULA),
<strong><span style="font-weight:normal">LA Urban Teacher Residency</span></strong> (LAUTR) is preparing future math and science teachers to help close the achievement gap. Teacher residents work side-by-side with a mentor teacher for an entire school year
while taking graduate-level classes at CSULA. Upon completion of the 14-month training period, they earn their preliminary teaching credential and a master's degree in education. Residents are given an
<strong><span style="color:red">$18,000 living stipend </span></strong>and must commit to teach for three years in a high-need public school.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p><strong>Interested candidates are encouraged to attend an information session or speak with an LAUTR representative at the UCR Graduate School Fair on 11/1/12 in the Rivera Library Mall from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.</strong><o:p></o:p></p>
