<p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">The Cal Teach Berkeley Summer Institute is a full-time nine-week program from June 18th to August 17th that combines a research lab placement and a weekly seminar course.
Students will engage in cutting edge research in science, math, engineering or education in a lab on or near the UC Berkeley campus for 36 hours each week. In addition, students will participate in Integrating Research Methods into K-12 Teaching in Mathematics
& Science, a weekly seminar class. Through this course, students will learn effective teaching strategies for K-12 science and math education and conduct demonstrations of K-12 science and math lessons. Using their research placement as a starting point, Summer
Institute students will also develop their own lesson plan for a K-12 classroom.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
